Valley residents with an affinity for cheap beer and tequila shots will remember Dos Gringos as the Old Town Scottsdale bar with a party-friendly atmosphere and, at least until recently, a run-down facade. The bar and restaurant closed its doors last November after being purchased by Chicago-based Glass Half Full LLC and has now reopened with an updated look as Old Town Gringos.

The restaurant serves a pretty straightforward menu of Mexican fare including tacos, burritos, and burgers — along with drinks specials like $1 PBRs on Sunday Funday and $2 Coronas on Taco Tuesdays. (You can view the complete food menu below.)

More interesting might be the building’s renovations, which include a new upstairs cabana deck, rooftop bar with dancefloor, new bathrooms, and beer-garden-style bar on the main patio.

For those who might get a little misty-eyed thinking about all these changes at what was once one of Old Town’s favorite bars, rest assured the new management team understands the Dos Gringos story. The new owners have even brought in Dave Corba, formerly of Linger Longer Entertainment (The VIG, Crescent Ballroom, and The Little Woody), to help run the show. He also was the original general manager for Dos Gringos.
