No matter how many bites I took, it seemed I could hardly put a dent in this enormous plate of ossobuco Milanese at Avanti Restaurant, the swanky, old-school Italian spot on Thomas. Can you have too much of a good thing? Not as long as there’s a to-go box at the ready.
This was beyond tender — I barely touched my knife — and smothered in carrots and onions and nestled in a creamy cushion of risotto.
The crabcake appetizer was just as sinful — a melt-in-your-mouth crabmeat patty and some big, plump shrimp blanketed in spicy cream sauce.

My dining companion had a gut-busting plate of spaghetti with both meatballs and chunks of sausage. The marinara sauce had a bold, savory flavor that stood up to the richness of all that meat.
