Flour & Thyme, the more relaxed sister restaurant of Scottsdale fine-dining establishment Anhelo, has temporarily closed due to plumbing issues in its downtown Phoenix building.
The plumbing repairs are complete, but water damage requires an extensive remodel that is ongoing. As of now, there is no specific reopening date, says chef and owner Ivan Jacobo.
“But, expect something much nicer when we announce the reopening,” Jacobo says.
The plumbing problems have been ongoing, forcing Flour & Thyme to cancel reservations for several weeks prior to deciding to temporarily shutter its doors on the ground floor of the Orpheum Lofts in January.

Jacobo opened what he calls his “love letter to downtown Phoenix” in December 2024, offering an elegant but more approachable counterpart to his white linen tablecloth and tasting menu-focused Anhelo.
Anhelo initially opened in the Orpheum Lofts space in 2021. In July 2025, Jacobo moved and reopened Anhelo in a newly built property in Old Town Scottsdale, boasting a romantic courtyard with a water fountain, fireplace and speakers hidden in the trees that play the calming sounds of birds chirping.
Flour & Thyme moved into the then-vacated downtown Phoenix space.
As Flour & Thyme’s plumbing issues escalated downtown, Anhelo’s business has picked up in Scottsdale. Jacobo says that the remodel allows him and his team to focus on serving Anhelo’s increased clientele, especially as peak tourist season ramps up.
In addition to Anhelo’s three multi-course tasting menus, Jacobo recently debuted a brunch menu that’s offered Thursday through Sunday.
