Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Lets be honest: we’ve all done the ‘ol “vodka in the water bottle” or “beer in the cargo pocket” routine from time to time (because the real crime is charging $10 for a watered down cocktail, or (gasp!) not allowing alcohol on the premises at all, right?).
Turns out drinking on the down-low can be a whole lot easier with Pocket Shot, a single-serving 50 ml pouch filled with an 80 proof liquor.
The pouches are considerably less conspicuous than a can or even a mini-bottle, so drinking for cheap at the next AC/DC show is as simple as stuffing a couple into your bra (which gives the term “fun-bags” a whole new meaning), socks or underwear…just keep in mind that the pouch may touch your lips at some point.
Pocket Shot comes in tequila, rum, vodka, whiskey, gin, spiced rum and brandy. The pouches sell for about $2-$3 each, depending on the retailer.
Pocket Shot is based in San Jose, Calif. and is currently available in 15 states, including Arizona. So far we’ve seen ’em at AJ’s in Arcadia, AZ Wine Company in Scottsdale and Tops Liquor in Tempe, but they’re gaining momentum quickly so check with your local liquor store.
