We wanted a lunch that would transport us a little. A mid-day leisurely escape and Postino Central did the trick. The Postino Central location at Central and Colter opened just over a year ago, in March 2009.
A favorite ten-dollar lunch option is the bruschetta. At $12.75, it’s perfect for two people to split for a lighter lunch. There are eleven topping selections – you choose four — so each person can pick a couple of favorites from Prosciutto with Figs & Mascarpone, Smoked Salmon with Pesto, Fresh Mozzarella with Tomato & Basil, to White Bean with Chopped Tomato and more.
Each topping is piled onto a hearty piece of grilled bread and each is cut into fourths. So when the bruschetta arrives at the table, served on a wooden cutting board, there are 16 small slices to nibble on. Throw in an ice tea or lemonade and you’re right under the ten-dollar mark.
Or if you’re feeling a little more indulgent there’s always the “Postino Wine Program”. Everyday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM you can enjoy a glass of wine for $5.00 from a sizable selection. (There are over 20 wines to choose from.)
The space is modern yet comfortable. When the floor to ceiling windows are opened up the place benefits from a nice cross-breeze and the hardest decision is to decide whether you will sit on the patio, at the bar or in the main dining room.
