After 7 1/2 years running Postino, a successful wine bar at 40th Street and Campbell, the folks from LGO Hospitality have decided to open a second location, just north of Camelback on Central Ave. It’s in the old Katz Deli space. (Katz’s closed down last week and unloaded a ton of free stuff on Sunday, via a Craigslist posting.)
Restaurateur Craig DeMarco just bought the building on Friday, and says he’ll be working with Hayes McNeil, the same architect who designed the original Postino, which is in an old post office.
“We’re trying to figure out how to bring this building back to its original early ’60s glory,” says DeMarco.
While DeMarco would love to open by the end of the year, the usual pre-holiday slowdown means he’ll realistically try to launch the new Postino in January.
Can’t wait!
