Phoenix is already drinking Postino’s Kool-Aid, er, wine, but soon, the East Valley might get a taste of the popular wine bar action as well.
Owner Craig DeMarco says he is 99 percent certain that the deal will go through to bring a third location of Postino to the former Grainbelt Grillhouse building in downtown Gilbert.
He says he’s not executed the lease, and that it will hinge on the Gilbert City Council approving changes to the building’s exterior to make it look more modern. So far, the Mayor is on board, and the full Council votes in December.
The building is “the ugliest thing on the planet,” says DeMarco. “But I love the location — it really fits our niche and has a lot of character.”
He adds that he really wants to be in the East Valley and has spent a year searching for the right location. The space will be split into two, and the search is on for a second tenant to fill it.
