Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You

We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.

$15,000

Attention, shoppers.
If you’ve ever visited a Pro’s Ranch Market before, then you’ll understand why it’s good news that a seventh Valley location just opened its doors, at 3415 W. Glendale Ave. The more, the merrier, I say.
This particular location will be quite a boost to its neighborhood, as California-based company Pro’s Ranch, which caters to a Hispanic clientele, took over a long-vacant former Abco supermarket.
Now, it’s 61,000 square feet of freshly made tortillas, mountains of produce, extensive meat and seafood departments, and just an all-around upbeat shopping experience. The food court at Pro’s Ranch stores is always a lively place to hang out and enjoy a hot torta or combination plate (seriously, it feels like you stumbled into a party). I usually like to grab an agua fresca to sip on as I push my shopping cart from aisle to aisle.
