A round-up of tasty morsels from Valley food blogs.
Megan at ScarlettaBakes.com had her hands full last week whipping up multiple mouthwatering recipes, but our favorite might be her black bean brownies, which she insists is how we do brownies here in Arizona (or should do them, anyway). We know, it sounds scary, because why in the world would you want to ruin a beautiful thing like a brownie by throwing beans into it? We just can’t help but be tempted by her fresh spin on an old recipe, and if the actual thing tastes as good as it looks there’s probably nothing to be scared of. If beans and brownies aren’t your thing, she also made some divine looking chipotle sweet potato biscuits.
Last week we told you about the insanity that is Jack in the Box’s new Bacon Shake. We still haven’t had a chance to get our hands on one of these bad boys, but Rodney at Adventures in Cuisine tried one last week. His thoughts? An almost rubbery, bacon flavor that surprisingly wasn’t too overpowering. Rubber and bacon in a shake? We just might be okay not trying one of these.
