As of yesterday, a local gourmet pizza chain has an even bigger slice of the market.
Sauce, the fast-casual pizza and wine joint owned by Fox Restaurant Concepts, opened a new Norterra location, near the I-17 and Happy Valley Road. It’s the fifth Sauce in town — more are in Tucson and Denver. And through 2009, look for four more Sauces: two at Sky Harbor, one in Central Phoenix, and one in the East Valley.
Customers will get to try out two new menu items not available anywhere else — at least for now. The chicken, pesto and parmesan pizza, as well as the chopped turkey, corn, cucumber, tomato, avocado and feta salad, will be exclusive to Sauce Norterra. There will also be a kids’ comfort food menu.
Meanwhile, all the Sauce spots have just gotten an updated drink menu. Among the new options is Pinot Grigio Tangent, a custom blend created by corporate sommelier Regan Jasper (who must have a hell of a fun job…) for all the Fox restaurants.
