Barrio Queen already stays open until midnight Tuesday through Saturday. But the modern Mexican restaurant’s owner and chef, Silvana Salcido Esparza, is taking the late-night scene in Old Town Scottsdale one step further: by staying open until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“Scottsdale has a weekend nightlife and not much food at that witching hour,” says Esparza. “So we are going to try and provide a service of late-night kick-ass food. A walk up-window is cool as shit, and our building came with one, so let’s use it already.”

Barrio Queen will serve its late-night menu on Friday and Saturday nights until 3 a.m. (window-service only from midnight to close). Guests can choose from three burritos ($11) and four kinds of Mexican-style hot dogs ($6 – $8).
“If we build it, will they come?” asks Esparza. “Short of putting on a taco suit and spinning a sign, I’m trying. Watch out Scottsdale, next comes the paleta carts — orale!”
