So says the Montelucia Resort & Spa, the luxury hotel in Scottsdale. It’s recently turned its eatery, the former ROQ American Bistro, into Centro Lounge. Located in the heart of the resort, the new gathering spot will sport a Southwestern-inspired menu of shareable plates, sides, and flatbreads courtesy of executive chef Michael Cairns.

Cairns, a hospitality veteran for over 22 years, took over the Montelucia’s executive chef position in February of 2012, replacing chef Peter DeRuvo.

From Cairns’ Centro Lounge menu, diners can expect lots of shared plates (think Sonoran spiced shrimp, Dos Equis-braised beef flautas, and blackened fish tacos), three flatbread choices, including a grilled vegetable selection, and sides such as sweet potato tater tots and frozen grapes.

Specialty cocktails, wines by the glass, and microbrews are also available.

Centro’s refined1,500-square-foot indoor/outdoor space features lounge-worthy couches, fire pits, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a view of Camelback Mountain. The lounge is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information or to view the menu, go to the Centro Lounge website.
