Calling all carnivores in the Camelback Corridor: Hot meat is on the way.
Burger chain Smashburger, which recently made Arizona inroads with a Tempe location that debuted this fall, plans to open another restaurant at 1949 E. Camelback Rd., #164, in February 2010, according to its new Series 12 liquor license request. Also in the works for February is a Smashburger in Avondale, at 99th Avenue and W. McDowell Road.
Further out in 2010, look for still more burgeoning burgers at additional Tempe and Phoenix locations.
Smashburger’s whole schtick is its method of smashing beef patties onto the grill to “sear the beef and seal in the flavor.” Hot dogs, rosemary fries, Haagen-Dazs milkshakes, and beer and wine are some of the other offerings that set the place apart from Mickey D’s.
