Spirits expert, ex-wine director at Oakville Grocery Co., and Sumosommelier David Johnson is at it again. After recently competing in the first Tommy Bahama “Rumologist” comeptition and attending celebu-chef Stephanie Izard’s Goat Tour dinner, Johnson has joined forces with chef Johnny Chu of The Mint, Scottsdale’s swanky ultra-lounge and restaurant, for a sake dinner.
At 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, Chu and Johnson will present five courses of Asian-inspired fare each with a pairing of the rice-based alcoholic beverage. Think gingered duck salad, sweet ginger cod, and red bean rice pudding served with a sweet coconut sauce.
