Recently on Pinterest I came across the idea that one could actually clean nasty old cookie sheets to the point where they looked new. Immediately I envisioned myself sharing my own image like the one below:
Before I go on, I have to tell you that I know how to clean. In fact, one of my favorite things to do is scrub a kitchen sink. Especially when when the sink is all yucky and stained. Gimme a new kitchen sponge and a bottle of Ajax and you won’t believe your eyes. I love it. I’m serious.
Unfortunately, these skills and love of scrubbing did nothing for me in this attempt to clean a cookie sheet.
I tried. My arm hurts. I used up a whole can of baking soda! (I can’t make cookies now. . . ) And all I have to show for it is this:
This recipe is a scam! I spent about 30 minutes scrubbing this thing. I made several recipes of the cleanser. I wasted a perfectly brand new kitchen sponge.
I know what you’re thinking . . .
Maybe my cookie sheet was a little too filthy? I thought of that, too. So I attempted it twice. Here’s the proof:
It made so little difference I couldn’t even come up with a before and after shot.
You wanna try? Mix baking soda with enough hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. The original pin came from One Good Thing By Jillee. She calls it her “kitchen miracle cleaner.” I call it a load of poo.
