Billy-Boy Wordsworth defined poetry as “the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.” Fitting then, we should apply this definition when we speak of fabulous fare. See if you can relate to this week’s victual verse and feel free to pen a few lines of your own, should you be so inspired.

Gather Ye Hot Dogs

Gather ye hot dogs while ye may,
Old time it is a-flyin’:
Chicago-style dogs are tasty today,
But tomorrow they will be a-dyin’.

Vienna beef in a poppy seed bun,
The real deal ye is a-gettin’.
The closer the dog gets to ye mouth,
The sooner ye stomach be settlin’.

The shake that’s best is edible gold,
Banana is its name.
With chunks too big for straw to hold,
A spoon ye needs to tame.

So don’t be coy, but use ye time,
And eat well while ye may.
Enough already with this rhyme,
Get to the Chicago Hamburger Company today!
