Reader support matters more than ever

Since we first let you know it was coming to Tempe Marketplace in August, we’ve kept an eye on Thirsty Lion Pub & Grill — the upscale casual restaurant and bar located in the former space of Maria Maria — waiting for the day it would open. Now it seems that day is here. And it is today.
The first Arizona location from the Portland-based business, Concept! Entertainment, Thirsty Lion will feature a centralized bar, exhibition kitchen, patio and outside bar, and 16 60-inch TVs.
When it comes to the food, think gourmet burgers, brick oven pizzas, and salads and sandwiches. And the 52 local craft, import, and domestic beers on draft and selection of cocktails should be proof enough that this lion is, indeed, thirsty.
