Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Tott’s Asian Diner closed last year, its owners promised fans the place would be back. Just a couple of months later, Tott’s is celebrating its grand reopening today from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
There’s no free food promised — though students do get 10 percent off the end bill — but with more than 140 RSVP’s on its Facebook page, Tott’s is clearly expecting a crowd.
Tott’s Asian Diner was in business for seven years before shutting in December after a landlord-tenant dispute.
Now fans of the restaurant are filling Tott’s Facebook event page with messages of their various withdrawals. Comments like “I’m going to eat my body weight in Orange Chicken,” “I need my kung pao chicken fix. I’ve missed it,” and “Walnut shrimp all the way!” promise some serious pigging out is in the near future.
The new Tott’s Asian Diner is at 4030 W. Ray Road in Chandler, about three miles south of its old location on Guadalupe and McClintock.
