On Feb. 20, the grocery retailer issued a recall for Chicken Fried Rice products, stating they “may be contaminated with foreign material.” And by foreign material, Trader Joe’s means “specifically, glass.”

On March 3, the grocer added Vegetable Fried Rice, Japanese Style Fried and Chicken Shu Mai to the list of potential hazards.

A press release from Trader Joe’s says, “There have been no confirmed reports of injury related to the recalled product.”

Nevertheless, the company encourages consumers to discard or return any products with the following best-by dates:

  • Chicken Fried Rice: 3/4/26 – 2/10/27
  • Vegetable Fried Rice: 2/28/26 – 11/19/26
  • Japanese Style Fried Rice: 2/28/26 – 11/14/26
  • Chicken Shu Mai: 3/13/26 – 10/23/26

Trader Joe’s will refund consumers for all recalled purchases.

Customers with questions can contact the chain’s customer relations line at (626) 599-3817, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time, or via email.
