If you’ve been in the Valley for a while, then you might recognize the name Gregory Casale.

From 2001 to 2004 his restaurant Gregory’s World Bistro put out imaginative food that local chefs will tell you was years ahead of its time. More recently, Casale’s been making a living as a corporate chef for companies such as Paradise Café, Peter Piper Pizza, and Chuck E. Cheese — but rest assured you can still taste his influence in the food prepared by the many chefs he mentored who have gone on to open their owns restaurants in town. 

Now Casale’s getting ready to leave the Valley, and a group of the city’s best chefs are sending him off with a blowout tribute feast. Seven local chefs including Bernie Kantak, Gio Osso, and Cullen Campbell will each prepare their own versions of Casale’s most famous dishes for the event, which will be held at Crudo in Phoenix on Sunday, June 14.
