The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
As an update to an earlier post this morning, make-a-wishes really do come true — they just take time and maybe a little bit of bad publicity.
TMZ has reported that Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, has (finally) agreed to meet Enzo, the 6-year-old with leukemia whose request to the Make-A-Wish Foundation was to cook a meal with the Food Network celeb he likes to watch on TV.
Garten recently denied his request — twice — due to scheduling conflicts. Now, her rep says she only “became aware of Enzo’s story this weekend” and will be calling him today.
Funny how that all worked out, ain’t it?
