The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
There’s a gorgeous Christmas tree at The Urban Tea Loft in downtown Chandler, but it’s not any ol’ decoration. It’s all to raise money for breast cancer research, and through the end of the year, the tree in the cafe serves as a reminder to people that the search for a cure lives on.
For $10, donors may put individualized cancer ribbons on the tree, and for $25 or more, donors may e-mail a photo of someone who’s been affected by breast cancer, and it will be placed in a clear bulb on the tree.
The money raised goes toward the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, which supports breast cancer research. Urban Tea Loft owner Glynis Legrand has a special investment in the cause–she’s a breast cancer survivor herself.
Donations by check may also be made out to “Stampin’ Out Breast Cancer” and sent to the Urban Tea Loft, at 11 W. Boston St., Suite 2, Chandler, 85225. For more info, log on to www.urbantealoft.com.
