Kneaders Bakery & Cafe, a Utah-based franchise specializing in European-style crusty breads and pastries, will open at 5155 East Baseline Road (Baseline Road and Higley) in Gilbert.
And, bonus, the first 100 people who show up to the restaurant and retail store on Monday (Kneaders will open at 7 a.m.) will score a free breakfast in the form of French Toast.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Here’s what else to expect.
In addition to around 15 types of breads, Kneaders, started in 1997 by Colleen and Gary Worthington, will also offer gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads, pastries, and breakfast dishes.
On the menu, look for a.m. dishes like breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon French toast, and pancakes; sandwiches such as turkey, bacon, and avocado on foccacia, a Reuben panini on rye, and grilled portabella on ciabatta; and made-to-order salads including a chicken raspberry nut and orange citrus.
Pastries may include cinnamon rolls, croissants, and pies.
With the new Gilbert bakery, Kneaders now consists of 23 locations including 19 in Utah, one in Idaho, and two in Yuma.
