All four Valley locations of Z’Tejas are serving up a special menu of chile-centric dishes this month to raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s fight against cancer.
The fifth annual Chile Fest menu features four entrees and a dessert for lunch; Z’Tejas will donate one dollar to the non-profit for every item guests order from the special menu.
Among the options are New Mexico chile barbacoa tacos (lunch), a green chile burger (lunch and dinner), crab avocado tostada stackers (lunch), green chile pork rellenos (lunch and dinner), spicy Baja shrimp skillet tacos (dinner), and seared chile-crusted scallops (dinner).
The featured dessert, Habanero prickly pear creme brulee, was the winning recipe created by Valley resident Merle C. Turner for July’s Chile Fest Dessert Contest.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Chile Fest takes place through September 27.
