There aren't many places in town to get traditional Hawaiian food, and Aloha Kitchen in Mesa is one of the best. On the daily menu you'll find a selection of basic Hawaiian plate lunches, but twice a week the restaurant pulls out the special stuff. On Wednesday that means kalua pork, chicken long rice, and lomi salmon, while Saturday brings laulau, a hard-to-find traditional Hawaiian dish. On both days, you'll want to get there early. By mid-afternoon, the laulau special will already be long gone. Read our review.
