The International House of Food, or the IHOF, is a small neighborhood café at the western edge of downtown Phoenix, with a menu that encompasses three types of cuisine. You’ll find standard diner-style American breakfasts, including biscuits and gravy, and Mexican specialties like migas with chorizo, a very cheesy and delicious take on chilaquiles. Lunchtime fare includes the popular house club sandwich, nicely seasoned burgers, and Mexican combo plates like chile relleno and street tacos. Tacos dorados, deep-fried tacos stuffed with well-seasoned shredded chicken and served in a tangy tomatillo sauce, are a house specialty. The café also offers a small menu of American-style Chinese food dishes, including fairly good renditions of orange chicken and kung pao chicken.
