Pima Air and Space Museum

Located in Tucson, the Pima Air and Space Museum houses a collection of more than 300 air and space crafts. It's one of the largest air and space museums in the world and the largest non-government funded aviation museum. Many of the crafts on display carry historical and technological significance and the museum is also the official tour operator of the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, or as we call it, the “Boneyard.” Tram tours of the 80-acre museum last about an hour and fifteen minutes and are narrated by docents who can even share personal experiences of their time in the service with the aircraft on display. Fifty-minute walking tours are also available and are free with admission. With nearly a dozen different exhibits, there's plenty to experience and popular spots include the Douglas B-23 Dragon, Boeing B-29 Superfortress, Convair B-36J Peacemaker and Air Force One Douglas VC-118A Liftmaster.
