Title 9 Sports Grill

Title 9 Sports Grill is packed with homages to women in sports. From the Diana Turasi photo wall to photos of famous women in sports journalism, it is evident that co-founders Kat Moore and Audrey Corley worked hard to intentionally carve out a space they felt was missing in Phoenix. The goal? For young girls to see themselves represented in women’s sports. Opening week summoned excited patrons who had their own reasons for visiting: a father who is also a coach for a girls high school sports team, an MLB player agent who is a woman and nearby residents eager to check out the new sports bar. Title 9 doesn’t call itself an LGBTQ+ bar, but we did notice interior design choices potentially selected to mirror the colors of the lesbian pride flag — a nice touch for a bar tucked into the Melrose district: Phoenix’s esteemed “gayborhood.”
