Tom Ryan’s
This Nashville-flavored live music destination — clearly the result of a one-night stand between a sports bar and a honky-tonk — has the most abundant happy hours of just about any bar in existence. For more than nine hours a day, on average, Tom Ryan’s knocks dollars off your tab. More hours than not are happy at Tom Ryan’s, and not only for the prices. On a given night, you’ll encounter men in cowboy hats and Wranglers, ladies slinging darts at the electronic boards, football fans watching omnipresent flat screens and older couples waltzing around the dance floor under the sparkles of a spinning disco ball as a country-rock band sings about the Everglades. Mondays mean karaoke, Friday and Saturday bring live bands and Sunday nights are for the jelly jam. If you play an instrument — guitar, trumpet, what have you — a live backing band will rock out behind you while you shred. It starts at 8 p.m., just 60 little minutes after the conclusion of 10 straight hours of happy hour. Are folks cheering your mastery of the accordion? Or are they simply pickled? Either way, it’s your hour to shine.
