The proprietors of Jewel’s Bakery & Café, Justine and Misael Trujillo, have launched a three-day-a-week taco pop-up. Adjoining their café on Arcadia’s edge, the pop-up serves a handful of tacos and just a few other dishes (like elote and carne asada fries). Tacos are traditional, coming from Trujillo family recipes, with modern touches here and there. Al pastor is carved from a spit beside an open flame. Nopales heap on tortillas pinkened with powdered prickly pear. Margaritas are juice-forward and on the sweeter side. Specials cycle in weekly, including pozole and a great poblano taco with cream cheese. Enter through the side patio.
