Errl Cup, the biannual festival dedicated to celebrating Arizona's weed culture, returned this past weekend. And though it was technically the fall edition of the event, nobody told the weather.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperatures in the Valley reached 111 and 113 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. That didn't stop thousands of weed enthusiasts from flocking to the Scarizona Scaregrounds in Mesa to get their hands on free cannabis products and compete in competitions such as Bong Wars.

Some brought umbrellas for shade, but just about everyone was dripping in sweat. It was a high time and a hot time, but that just made Errl Cup feel all the more unique to Arizona.

Phoenix New Times was there and brings you these photos.
