Let's be blunt: metro Phoenix is about to be lit up with cannabis-inspired events and celebrations. We’re rolling into 420 — the greenest day on the calendar and a high holiday for stoners, casual users and marijuana lovers alike.

Every April 20 is an occasion to celebrate anything and everything cannabis. Its origins are as murky as a hotbox, with many tracing it back to a group of California teens in the '70s who met after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke out.

These days, it’s become an excuse for dispensaries, smoke shops and even non-cannabis businesses to offer special events, parties and deals. That’s definitely the case here in the Valley, as 420 celebrations and sales will occur at joints Valleywide.

Since 420 is about to be the toke of the town, here’s our list of the can't-miss 420 events in Phoenix in 2025.

Cactus Jack’s

4747 E. Elliot Road, Ahwatukee
If ever there was a perfect day to attend the weekly jam by local Grateful Dead tribute act the Noodles, it's on 420. The band will be joined by Arizona guitarist Mario Saravia during their session, which starts at 4:20 p.m. (natch). Admission is $5.

Royal Tobacco & Cigar Lounge
