The popularity of the dubstep scene continues to grow in the Valley. At least four different nights devoted to the bass-heavy genre are operating at local clubs, including Subversion's Thursday throw-down at Disco, 4301 North Civic Center Plaza in Scottsdale. Anchored by rock star residents HavocNdeeD (the talented twosome made up of the PHX's J. Paul and Las Vegas spinster OB-One), Subversion has imported some of the dopest dubstep demons from around the world, including DJ Rap and Britain's Jakwob. Their latest booking coup is just as epic, as spinster superstar 12th Planet cruises into Disco's orbit on Thursday, February 24. Sporting a moniker inspired by a 1976 sci-fi tome of the same name, this SoCal DJ/producer has spent the past five years pioneering the growth of dubstep in America and creating stellar mixes of thumping and bumping sounds. Subversion regulars Sebastian, Crit, and Risky Business will open the show. Doors open at 9 p.m. and admission is $12-$15. Visit www.wantickets.com. — Benjamin Leatherman
