If you love R&B or hip-hop, you may recognize the name or voice of R&B singer and musician Anderson .Paak.
It might be for his collaboration with Bruno Mars as the duo Silk Sonic or his Grammy Award-winning albums. And if you’re a tried and true fan of Mr. Paak’s catalogue, you’re probably familiar with NxWorries and will be excited to know that after over a decade on hiatus, the duo will be hitting the road.
NxWorries, pronounced “no worries,” will perform in Phoenix on Friday, October 17, during their national tour, Why Lawd?
The duo of recording artist Anderson .Paak and hip-hop producer Knxwledge will hit a total of 22 North American cities with the support of Grammy-award-winning rap artist Rae Khalil.
The hip-hop/R&B duo will be performing at downtown Phoenix’s spacious-yet-intimate music venue The Van Buren, a departure from Paak’s last headlining show at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in 2024, a joint performance with his band, The Free Nationals.
The duo announced the tour on social media this morning at 7 a.m. local time, alongside the release of a new single, “Everybody Gets Down,” their first release of the year.
The tour is in support of NxWorries’ latest project of the tour’s namesake, which was released in the summer of last year after being teased on social media since the pandemic. Though the album only reached a low-to-modest peak of #81 on the Billboard 200, the experimental neo-soul/jazz fusion album won the duo Best Progressive R&B Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. "Why Lawd?" is the duo’s second and only full-length album since their debut, released in 2016.
Pre-sale tickets are available on Wednesday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. All ticket purchases can be made via the NxWorries website.
