Score some cheap entertainment while helping out the kiddies this weekend as Celebrity Theatre offers patrons $5 tickets for donations benefiting Valley youth charities.

The in-the-round venue is giving away the cheapie tix if you bring in a non-perishable food item, unwrapped toy or children's clothing item to the box office a day before the show, and the goods will go towards Operation Santa, a fundraiser sponsored by Sanderson Ford Lincoln Mercury in Glendale.

The offer's good for Fabolous on Friday, December 11; Cameo on Saturday, December 12; Collin Raye Sunday, December 13; and Eddie Money Thursday, December 17. All you have to do is bring the donation at least a day before the show. Box office hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

And if you bring a donation the day of, you can still get a $10 discounted ticket. For more info, call the box office at (602) 267-1600.

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
