I was excited to see an e-mail about the new Against Me! record, due June 8 on Sire. As the band’s publicist says, the record from one of the best live bands I’ve seen in the past year was produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, etc., etc.) so it should be pretty awesome.
Then I remembered I heard the record like a month ago. And it was pretty awesome. The press release makes no mention of the fact that the record leaked, like, a month ago, which is interesting in and of itself.
In related news, the band will be embarking on a lengthy tour to support the record. Omaha, Albuquerque, Henderson, (Nevada), Lubbock, and Greenville (South Carolina) all have dates, but Phoenix does not.
