Anal Cunt has got to be the only "joke band" that's still recording and touring 20 years after its tongue-in-cheek (and anywhere else you can imagine) genesis. Since playing its first show in the Newton, Massachusetts home of founder Seth Putnam's mother, Anal Cunt has released innumerable grindcore records with titles like Morbid Florist and I Like It When You Die. The band's song titles are even more charmless — "You Were Pregnant So I Kicked You in the Stomach," "Hitler Was a Sensitive Man," and "Foreplay with a Tree Shredder" are just a few of the band's titular offenders. It's precisely this general irreverence for everything that has drawn fans to the grindcore pioneers (that, and the fact that none of Anal Cunt's screeching songs clocks in at longer than a minute). Even though Anal Cunt hasn't released any new material recently, the band's touring in support of a compilation called Old Stuff, Part 3, and longtime fans will probably flock to the show to hear classics like "Fred Shitbreath" and "The Guy Who Shot His Kid Up With A.I.D.S. Is Awesome."
