Nowhere is the phrase "out of sight, out of mind" more applicable than the music business. This is why you could probably use a refresher course on Los Angeles fuzz-rockers Autolux. Six years ago — that's nearly two decades in blog time — Autolux had a lot going for them. The band had just released its debut album, Future Perfect, to strong reviews and was opening for the likes of Nine Inch Nails and White Stripes. Aside from a couple of collaborations here and there, the band hasn't produced much since then. Things started to go south for Autolux when the label that released Future Perfect, DMZ, went under. Then the band's sophomore album was put on hold when guitarist Greg Edwards took time off to be a parent. But now the band is finally back with its second album, Transit Transit. So, after six long years of keeping their fans waiting, was the wait worth it? Mostly favorable reviews of the new disc seem to make the case that it was. And considering that we may not see another album from the band for another six years, you may as well make the best of it while you can.
