Bjork Releasing iPad App Album

Icelandic singer Bjork has taken after the Gorillaz. Her latest album has been partially recorded on an iPad, according to Consequence of Sound.

On the other hand, she's also taking a page from the Flaming Lips in that listeners will have to piece the album togetherBiophilia, which will be Bjork's second project of the year, is going to be released as a series of iPad applications.

Biophilia, for which a release date has not been announced just yet, is a "multi-media project encompassing music, apps, internet, installations, and live shows," Bjork said.

Props to Bjork for this innovative idea. The creative process for making an album is starting to go in a new direction, which is awesome.

On the other hand, what ever happened to good old mp3 files and compact discs? I like getting my music in a simple format.

Will listeners be hesitant to listen to Bjork's whole album because they have to work too hard to be able to hear it all?
