Local Wire

As far as local "supergroups" go, Boilermaker's got some street cred. The quartet includes Neil Jay Impossible, guitarist and vocalist of the Impossible Ones, vocalist and bassist Luke Lanham from North Side Kings, and bassist Ms. Butcher and drummer Thrashley from The Dames. Although all the members' mainstay bands are of the punk or hardcore ilk, as Boilermaker, they play "Irish and drinking song favorites," and onstage, they're given an instrumental boost from Scott MacLeod of the LA Pipe Band. Initially put together as a one-off band to play at Thrashley's birthday party, Boilermaker's now done a handful of shows and plans to record by the end of the summer. In the meantime, check out their raucous, shit-kickin' live show.
