You’ve got to give mad props to a band that supports its frontman even after the group disintegrates. Such is the case with Chris Wallace, former singer of the now-defunct The White Tie Affair, who has found more mainstream success on his own than his band ever did. While TWTA did manage to make cameos on teeny-bop shows like The Hills, it’s Wallace who’s achieved Top 40 radio success with his single, “Remember When (Push Rewind).” The song’s pure pop, and Wallace’s debut solo album, Push Rewind, has charted higher than his previous band’s. It’s also helped score Wallace a stint opening for electronic act Owl City, who’ll celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with Wallace in Phoenix. You might think his former bandmates would be bitter about Wallace’s newfound success, but not TWTA — after all, Wallace had no choice but to do his own thing after his bandmates decided they needed a break from the musical world. Will his former crew ever reunite to back Wallace once again without all the glory? Judging by the promotion of Wallace’s tunes all over TWTA’s websites, it might not be too crazy a notion for the future.
