If you’re a Hall & Oates fan, the songwriting duo will be making your dreams come true this September.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will play a concert at Ak-Chin Pavilion on September 14. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 12, at 10 a.m. at www.livenation.com.
It’s shaping up to be a high-energy concert. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue are slated to open, which means this concert might be one of the most danceable rock shows to come to town all year. Rich girls, man eaters — everyone should have a good time.
Hall & Oates don’t have the most sterling reputation among so-called “serious” music fans, and that’s a damn shame. First off, look at this video of confirmed cool guys Fred Armisen and Bill Hader cutting a promo for the tour. Then, watch this video of Daryl Hall and Cee Lo Green doing an amazingly tight and funky performance of “I Can’t Go For That,” live from Hall’s garage.
