How’s this for pleasant coincidence: David Allan Coe, arguably country music’s ultimate outlaw is finally coming to Phoenix again. Yup, the same DAC who is Today’s Soundtrack just announced a date at Celebrity Theatre on October 8.
You may recall that the 70-year-old’s scheduled show at The Last Exit/Nowhere/Venue of Scottsdale/Last Exit/Nowhere last September was one of the Valley’s all-time scheduling clusterfucks. Hell, even I got a call from Coe’s manager as all that was going down.
Coe married for the sixth time last month — the bride, Kim Hastings, is only 48, so he seems to be feeling spry. Toby Keith attended that wedding, which was at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, so you also know Coe’s still plenty influential. You can see the happy couple performing together in the above video. Tickets are a modest $20 and $30 and go on sale this coming Thursday at Celebrity Theatre.
