Earlier this week, Deafheaven announced a brand new album. Now, just like clockwork, the San Francisco "blackgaze" band have announced a supporting North American tour slated for April and May.

Due out March 28, "Lonely People With Power" is the band’s sixth album and serves as the follow-up to 2021's excellent "Infinite Granite." The 12-track effort marks a robust period of change for Deafheaven. Not only is it their first record on the legendary Roadrunner Records, but after some more serene experimentation with "Infinite Granite," they're returning to the harsher, more angst-ridden sound of a record like 2013's "Sunbather." And based solely on lead single "Magnolia," which you can stream below, a nosier, more direct Deafheaven is clearly the way to go.
As for the tour, the 27-date outing kicks off April 19 in Los Angeles and winds down May 23 at Mesa's The Nile Theater. The band will be supported throughout the tour by Gatecreeper and Trauma Ray. Tickets are on sale Friday Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
