You won’t catch Tim Neilson (a.k.a. Johnny Volume) loading up the latest remixes by The Twelves or fiddling with Serrato Scratch Live on a Macbook when performing during Delinquency. Nope, the 36-year-old keeps thing far more lo-fi during the biweekly punk night at Yucca Tap Room, 29 West Southern Avenue in Tempe, utilizing only two turntables and a shitload of records. Neilson pulls out plenty of platters of the punk, hardcore, garage rock, and ska variety every other Tuesday for five straight hours of vinyl gems. He even brings in a few friends for guests DJ sessions from time to time, such as local promoter Tyler King, who visits on Tuesday, June 7. The punk platters start spinning at 9 p.m. and there’s no cover. Call 480-967-4777.
