As expected, this year's Coachella sold out pretty fast. Scalpers are already selling tickets for upwards of $1,000 for a single pass--for the love of god, please email this person and offer them $200. That's a bit of an anomaly, since most resales are going for around $500, but sometimes a kind soul is nice enough to sell at face value.
Keep in mind that wristbands won't actually be released until March, so it seems a little ridiculous to spend almost double face value to be left empty handed for a couple months. That sounds pretty scammy, to be honest. Our advice is to wait until wristbands get mailed out and the commodity dies down. Tickets will get cheaper, I'm certain of it. I sold a wristband a week before the festival last year and was lucky to get face value for it.

Beach House Mentioning this doesn't do that much good, since the band's April 9 show at Crescent Ballroom has already sold out, but it would be much easier to buy a ticket for this show than to deal with shady folks selling Coachella wristbands.
Sigur Ros This cinematic Icelandic band swings by Comerica Theatre on Friday, April 12, and the band's ochestral post rock sounds amazing live. Get on it.
April 15: Coachella-Related Concert Onslaught Day 2013 Unless you're at the festival, you really have no excuse for not going to a show on this day. We already discussed The xx at Marquee Theatre, and this is just one of four great shows happening on the same day. Polica will be at The Rhythm Room and although they are not playing the festival, Lucero will be at Crescent Ballroom. Local Natives rounds it all out with a show at Rialto Theatre in Tucson.
Alex Clare If you're not burnt out on "Too Close" yet, you can see this dubstep/soul musician perform at Marquee Theatre on April 16.
Portugal. The Man These indie rockers always have a big draw, check out Glenn BurnSilver's review of the band's show last year. The band moved up to Marquee Theatre on April 17, but we still can't guarantee that it won't sell out.
Rodriguez If this singer/songwriter's name doesn't ring a bell, the enduring documentary Searching for Sugar Man may turn you into a fan. The singer will be performing at the gorgeous Orpheum Theatre on April 18, and will swing by Tucson the following day.
The Gaslight Anthem These blue collar Jersey punks were a surprising addition to the Coachella line up, but in my experience, they have always put on a fantastic show. I highly recommend seeing them at Marquee Theatre on April 23 for a dose of Springsteen-influenced nostalgia.
Father John Misty The kooky former drummer of Fleet Foxes will return to the Valley a couple weeks after Coachella, appearing at Crescent Ballroom on May 4.
