It's official: Dispatch will be touring this summer. Indeed, a reunion is in order.

The band made the announcement after an ongoing countdown on their website that ended at midnight on New Years Eve.

Sorry, Phoenix, but they're not coming here. They will be at Red Rocks though.

Not counting a few gigs here and there, this will be the band's first U.S. tour in almost 10 years. The six-date national tour will go down in June.

Tickets
go on sale to the public on January 28. Fifty cents of every ticket
sold will be donated to local education programs. The band said that
more community service projects that will take place on the summer tour
will be announced soon.

Better yet, if you help spread the word
about the tour via Twitter or Facebook, you can download all four of the
band's studio albums for free. Sweet deal!

As I said, the closest date to Arizona is Morrison, Colorado.

06/04 - Morrison, CO @ Red Rocks
06/08 - Chicago, IL @ Millennium Park
06/11 - Berkley, CA @ Greek Theare
06/18 - Harrison, NJ @ Red Bull Arena
06/21 - Atlanta, GA @ Chastain Park
06/25 - Boston, MA @ TD Garden

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
