Hope you're in the mood to shake a tail feather this weekend, as the PHX is being invaded by a trio of top-shelf EDM talent. SoCal house maestro DJ Dan, a boffo beat-mixing protégé of Donald Glaude (who's been rated one of the best in the biz by BPM), visits Myst, 7340 East Shoeman Lane in Scottsdale, for a two-hour session on Friday, October 17. Local spinster Spencer Thomas is also on the bill. Doors open at 9 p.m. and admission is $10. Visit www.mystaz.com. Elsewhere in the Valley's sprawl, British happy hardcore icon Ian Hicks (a.k.a. DJ Hixxy) headlines the Blackout '08 rave on Saturday, October 18, which also features more than two dozen other DJs doing their thing. That same night, the dope duo of LAZRtag (consisting of a pair of L.A. dance music freaks named StellarDRV and Luvtek) paints William Fucking Reed's weekly Shake! extravaganza at the Rogue Bar, 423 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, with their electro mash-ups and remixes.
