DJ Kyko has been bringing Latin flavor to the Valley for years. But that doesn’t mean he’s afraid to experiment with other genres. As the double-dipping resident DJ at Privileged Fridays at Club DWNTWN and Latin Ladies Saturday Night at Sky Lounge, he keeps bodies moving with an eclectic mix of hip-hop, electro, and his Latin roots. Staying diverse is the best way to stay current, Kyko says. Throwing in off-color artists like LMFAO and Pitbull keeps his Latin nights current and popping. “I usually start off with a couple of mellow songs and then hit the crowd with some heat,” says Kyko (a.k.a. Miguel Morales). He gets his vinyl from all over the world, but still stays true to his local ties, frequenting Phoenix’s Tracks in Wax. Hear his global selections Fridays at Club DWNTWN or Saturdays at Sky Lounge. Beats drop at 9 p.m. both nights.
