The hearts of local drum 'n' bass fanatics are thumping like some dope-ass Goldie track in anticipation of this weekend's gig by the U.K.'s Micky Finn. Over the past two decades, the British beatmaster and producer (whose slogan states he's been "mugging ya ears off since 1988") helped pioneer and cultivate the d'n'b and jungle rave scene in his native England, and has dropped some sweet-sounding science in clubs around the world. In recent years, Finn's been busy running the Urban Takeover record label with DJ Aphrodite (a.k.a. the "godfather of jungle") and the pair has remixed such artists as The Luniz and Busta Rhymes. And on Friday, May 2, Valley fans will get slipped a Micky, as Finn visits Coach & Willie's, 412 South Third Street in Phoenix, with opening sessions by Hipstep Massive/Konkrete spinsters DJ Wednesday and DJ Bass. The beats start at 9 p.m. with a $10 cover. Call 602-254-5272.
